Hitless Speedrun Rules for Resident Evil 4
General Rules
- Run needs to be done according to the Team Hitless rules
Complete the game starting with a New Game file in a single segment.
“Time without loads” is tracked via the special load-remover timer, which can be enabled in LiveSplit after setting the game name to Resident Evil 4 (Steam). In Game Time(IGT), is displayed both on the results screen and in your final typewriter save.
- In order for your time with the load-remover timer to be counted during verification, the timer must be clearly displayed and shown running in sync with your game in your video submission throughout the entirety of the run. If your timer isn’t displayed, then your IGT will be used to fill both timing methods.
Specific Rules for Resident Evil 4 Classic
- Since march 20th 2023, all runs must be full vanilla version, so no re4tweaks, HD project, etc. ARE ALLOWED.
- Showing framerate on screen is REQUIRED for the entirety of the run. You can use the Steam overlay, MSI Afternurner, RivaTuner, etc. for this.
- typewriter after the results screen (you cannot make any other saves besides the final typewriter save). The final typewriter save after the results screen is required to be shown in all submissions, and not making it will result in a REJECTION.
- The Ditman (striker) glitch, TMP glitches (GC only), and all out of bounds and float glitches are forbidden.
- Special 1 costume is BANNED on Gamecube NTSC.
- Special costume 2 (Leon gangster outfit with Ashley in a suit of armor) is forbidden.
- Ashley is not allowed to take damage.
- Retry is forbidden (this means you cannot use the “retry from a checkpoint” button).
- Red Zealot Incendiary trick is Allowed.
- Wrecking Ball skip is Allowed.
