Specific Rules For Silent Hill 2:
  • If Maria gets hit by an enemy or James would be considered as a HIT
  • You can play either 2 versions of this game for PC: Enhanced Edition (PC) or PCSX2 Emulator (PS2). However, these two versions affect the natural behavior of the Game.
  • No special weapons are allowed for Any% and Hard% only on GN+.
  • All types of Enemy Grabs, even if you use a defensive item, count as HIT.
  • Runs on the PC Version of the game are ALLOWED.
  • Runs on Original Consoles (PS2, PS3, etc.) are ALLOWED.
  • Silent Hill 2 No Hit Tool is ALLOWED, you can download it here.
  • The cutscene where Pyramid Head throws you from the rooftop of the Hospital it’s forced damage and it doesn’t count as a HIT, this also will not count as damaged recieved in the game result screen.
  • It’s ALLOWED to play on a SEEDED saved file to avoid unfair RNG’s such as the cockroach room on both versions. On the PS2 version of the game there’s a unique feature: a fade in/out transition occurs every time the player uses the inventory, crosses through doors, and interacts with certain features. During that moment, not only can the player not see their surroundings, but everything around continues to happen (enemies can see you before you can see them). This issue does not affect the Enhanced Edition.
  • It may be the case that if James hits at the same time the enemy that vomits when the enemy is attacking the player, James does not perform any animation of having been hit, but receives a very small amount of damage that isn’t noticeable if you look the James’ life from the inventory menu. Obviously it is hit since there is damage. If you play the PC version with the Enhanced Edition mod you can press CTRL+I to see the total damage that James has received.
  • If a seeded save file is going to be used, this save can be done at the two save points before encountering the first enemy of the game (since up that point it’s impossible to suffer hit or damage). The runner must show in their run how they load the save file to display in which difficulty the game is.
