Hitless rules for Hollow Knight: Silksong

General Rules
  • Run needs to be done according to the Team Hitless rules.
  • Main Menu and mods must be shown in your submission. Runners are allowed to load a 0:00 autosave to skip the opening cutscene.
  • Damage in Silksong is defined as:
    – Any instance of a loss of current masks
    – Gaining Masks from shards or lifeblood is NOT damage
    – Losing lifeblood from sitting at a bench, hardsaves, cutscenes, or quitouts is NOT damage
  • All accepted runs must be damageless by default.
  • Hits in Silksong are defined as:
    – Contact with any enemy or dynamic object (traps, falling rocks, etc.)
    – Getting glue-trapped by Guardflies, Wardenflies or Broodmother spitting at you
    – Falling in Memories
    – Falling in the fog at The Mist
    – Getting caught in Barnak’s tongue is NOT a hit unless you get damaged from them.
    – Getting caught by hunter cages is NOT a hit.
    – Getting kidnapped to The Slab is NOT a hit.

    – Falling into Muckmaggots pits is NOT a hit.
    – Blocking damage with Warding Bell is NOT allowed for hitless, but allowed for damageless.
    – Failing any minigame (such as Fleatopia games – Flea Dodge hits included – or Dart game) is NOT considered as a hit.

  • Quitouts to port to the last bench or hardsave are allowed when you have no enemy aggro or there is no possibility of you getting hit or damaged from where you stand.
  • Quitting out from active arenas is not allowed since it counts as enemy aggro. Arenas are activated as soon as gates close, enemies spawn, or when the roar freezes your position.
  • Quitouts are mandatory if accidentally going out of bounds from the map.
  • Allowed Minor Glitches: Pogo Endlag Cancels, Beast Boosts, Voltvessel Drill Pogos, Bind Dash Refreshes.
  • Fourth Chorus Skip is allowed, while Fourth Chorus Skip Skip is not (pressing pause right after finishing the dialogue during the Hand in Flexile Spines quest to avoid the hardsave after receiving Drifter’s Cloak).
  • Voltvessel one-way wall breaks are NOT ALLOWED.
  • Visual mods (such as skins) and No Death are allowed but any other mod, including Debug mod, will make the run invalid. Please contact the team staff if you would like to use mods that help with photosensitivity, such as reduction of flashing or bright lights and textures, and we’ll add them to the list.
  • Restricted Categories must rely on a specific achievements or mechanics to be accepted. Currently accepted restrictions:
    – No Tools (Red, Blue, Yellow, or all of them)
    – No Silk Spells
    – No Needle Upgrades
    – No Upgrades (Mask Shards, Spool Fragments, Needle, Tool Pouches, Crafting Kits) 
    – Needle Only (using Silkspear to break through silk to get to Bellbeast is allowed)
