Hitless Speedrun Rules for Sekiro
General Rules
- Run needs to be done according to the Team Hitless rules
- For general speedrun rules please check this page
Specific Rules for Sekiro
- All normal hitless rules for Sekiro must be followed.
- Timing starts when pressing “New Game” on the main menu and ends when “SEKIRO” appears on screen at the start of the credits. If the runner chooses to not end the run on the credits, then after quitting out after the final boss has fully died and the runner is in a safe place with no enemies aggroed (red marker) or alerted (yellow marker). Time is counted in In-Game Time (IGT).
- You must show New Game creation in the video. PC runners must use LiveSplit with the Sekiro Plugin enabled and have “Compare Against” set to “Game Time” setup tutorial. PC runners must show LiveSplit on screen during their run, the final time is what LiveSplit shows at the end of the run. Console runners must instead show IGT on the savefile at the end of the run. It is allowed to close the game during credits in order to not lose time to the quit out to show the savefile. If you run on console and wish to quit out for this purpose, the run must be a streamed, live run.
- Achieving an ending and reaching the credits is required for all runs. The run does not have to end on credits.
- Quitting out in order to save time is banned (e.g; to get the Elevator to come down faster in Abandoned Dungeon or get the door after Corrupted Monk to open faster).
- Crashing the game or closing the game with ALT+F4 (outside of console players, during credits) will cause the run to be considered an invalid run.
- Mods (other than the LiveSplit Plugin) that save time or impact gameplay are banned (e.g. Item and Tutorial Pop-up removal mods, sword replacer mods with longer reach and gameplay changing mods). Cosmetic mods are allowed.
- The use of Macros, turbo buttons, free scroll wheels, etc. is banned.
- Runs on the website may well be grandfathered in and follow an old ruleset.
